Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and may close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the subsequent criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home using a combined gross household earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household earnings does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the right Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or my nsfas plan to research at a public nsfas 2025 university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public my nsfas universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
